 FAQs

  • I mainly coach running and cycling.

  • While services like TrainerRoad can offer good value and a basic structure, they can’t fully integrate your training history, explain the reasoning behind decisions, or adapt through real athlete feedback. ID Performance fills that gap with individualized coaching and context-driven adjustments.

  • While my fundamentals are consistent across clients, each training plan is built around each individual athlete. This includes things such as your physiology, sports history, and time allocation. For example, most athletes have a 7-day repeating cycling, while others may have a 4-day cycle.

    In context of the coaching tiers, “week” and “cycle” are interchangeable.

  • Once I obtain your feedback on a session or block of training, I will update your training plan accordingly.

    Life can happen as well and if you’re unable to commit to a session (or multiple), let me know and I will update your plan as needed.

  • Each of my athletes will be given my number and email. We can do any mode of check-in preferred (coffee date, anyone?).

  • Nope! While devices like heart rate monitors, GPS watches, and power meters can assist in training - and are preferred - the only thing you need is a simple stopwatch to get started.

    There are no required paid programs or subscriptions to receive training plans. I can work with your preferred platform, but I do utilize Intervals.icu, and creating an account is free.

  • That is completely okay. Coaching is a partnership, and it’s important that you feel it’s the right fit.

    You can end your training at any time, as there are no long-term contracts. If you decide to work with another coach, I’m happy to help make the transition as smooth as possible.

  • Yes! I offer discounts for athletes under the age of 18 (20%) and anyone who is a member of a Virginia Cycling Association team (10%).
